Stefan, the lovely son of Novak Djokovic, gave a charming version of his father’s overhead smash on Saturday, July 6, during the Serbs’ match against Alexei Popyrin in the third round of the 2024 Wimbledon Championships. Jelena, Djokovic’s wife, was also thrilled with her husband’s shot and showed her excitement alongside their son.
The 24-time Grand Slam winner faced off against Popyrin to advance to the grasscourt Major’s fourth round. Throughout the match, Popyrin applied pressure to the 37-year-old, winning the first set 6-4. To regain control of the match, the world No. 2 elevated his game and won the second and third sets.
In the fourth set, the pair played a tight tiebreak in which the Serb won big with an overhead smash to take a critical 4-2 lead. Families were thrilled with Novak Djokovic’s performance; his wife Jelena excitedly shouted and his kid Stefan imitated his shot.
