Despite facing challenges in her recent past, Emma Raducanu returned to Wimbledon with all the grace. The 21-year-old was sidelined due to wrist and ankle surgeries last year, and she stated in April that she was mentally and emotionally spent trying to find her game. However, after making it to the Nottingham Open semifinal and Eastbourne quarterfinals, she said she had discovered her love for the game again.
On Monday night, that was evident on Centre Court as Raducanu, who defeated Renata Zarazua 7-6 6-3, relished the chance to achieve so. Although Raducanu is now only placed at No. 135 in the rankings, she is making an effort to move higher.
Raducanu was happy after the win and posted pictures on Instagram with the caption: “Missed this feeling.”
