Zverev Is Confident He Can Win Wimbledon

At the Wimbledon 2024 pre-Championship press conference, Alexander Zverev expressed his optimism about competing for the title, expressing confidence in his abilities and viewing this year’s tournament as more open than in the past with multiple potential winners.

Zverev also discussed the unique challenges of the Olympics, including the pressure of representing his country and the infrequency of the event. He emphasized the importance of five-set matches in tennis and opposed the idea of eliminating them, believing that the difficulty of winning a Grand Slam is a significant part of the sport’s appeal.

Additionally, Zverev shared that he developed a double-handed backhand as a child due to using his younger brother’s heavy rackets, and he believes that the game is becoming too fast for single-handed backhands to keep up. When not competing, Zverev enjoys playing tennis with his family and setting up a mini tennis net and a nine-hole golf course in their garden.
