Since Novak Djokovic appears to be enjoying himself at Wimbledon, one finds it hard to believe he had surgery less than 20 days ago. Despite looking to be in better shape than he is, the Serbian won a set today in a training session against Frances Tiafoe without experiencing any physical difficulties.
As a result, Djokovic is speeding up his Wimbledon 2024 training, and all the signs point to him being prepared to participate in the British Grand Slam.
Although Djokovic is preparing to compete at Wimbledon, he clarified that he would only take part in the event if his body indicated he could make it to the final rounds and perhaps even win it.
He said: “The truth is, I’m not surprised to be here; my plan from the beginning has always been to try to participate in Wimbledon, so that’s exactly what I’m trying to do.”
Novak Djokovic in 2024
Ranked no.2, Novak played his last match on the 3rd of June when he overcame world no.27 Francisco Cerundolo 6-1 5-7 3-6 7-5 6-3 in the 4th round of the French Open (draw).
Currently, during this year Novak has a composed 18-6 match record. Novak Djokovic’s best result of the present year was getting to the semifinal at the Australian Open, Monte Carlo and Geneva.
Djokovic will compete next at the Wimbledon (Wimbledon). He will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 1st of July.
Frances Tiafoe in 2024
Currently the world no.30, the American played his last match on the 17th of June when he had to retire when playing against world no.75 Rinky Hijikata in the 1st round and the scoreline was 7-5 4-6 1-0 .
This year Tiafoe has achieved a composed 13-15 win-loss record. Frances Tiafoe’s most significant result of the present year was getting to the final in Houston.
Novak Djokovic and Frances Tiafoe clashed against each other just on 2 occasions. Their actual record is 2-0 for Djokovic. Previously, the last time they played each other, Novak Djokovic won 6-1 6-3 in the round robin in London (Laver Cup) in September 2022.
