It is a truth that padel is a worldwide phenomenon, that it is being played in more locations, and that it is gaining significant attention in regions like Asia and the United States.
And a big portion of success may be attributed to two tournaments: the Asia Pacific Padel Tour (APPT) and the Pro Padel League, which are raising awareness of the sport of padel racket and attracting new players with its many attractions.
With regard to the latter, we would like to share with you some data that attests to its rapid expansion in the brief time it has been in existence and shows how the Asian public is discovering in paddle tennis a substitute for their regular routine, even though the sport does not seem to mesh well with their cultural norms.
The APPT has been established in Japan, China, the Philippines, Bali, Malaysia, Dubai, and hopes to expand to other places like South Korea, Australia, or India in 2025. It currently boasts over 800 players of over 70 different nationalities, as athletes from South America, Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and other countries compete in it. This year, the number of tournaments scheduled has increased from six to eleven, and the mixed category has been implemented with great success.
