Known for his witty remarks, Gilbert playfully linked the fox sighting to the Italian tennis star, whose childhood nickname is “the fox.”
Sharing his wildlife encounter on social media, the 62-year-old coach jokingly referenced Sinner and his coach Darren Cahill, noting the fox’s presence in the village surroundings. This light-hearted moment adds to the anticipation as both Gauff and Sinner gear up for the Wimbledon Championships.
“Coco Gauff and Jannik Sinner have shown promising form on grass,” said Gilbert, highlighting Gauff’s recent semifinal run in Berlin and Sinner’s triumph at the Terra Wortmann Open in Halle. Sinner’s victory not only marked his first grasscourt title but also positioned him as a top contender heading into Wimbledon.
