Tough luck for Novak Djokovic that had to retire from the tournament in Dubai because of a quirky eye infection.
What happened?
Nole lost the first set (6-3) against Feliciano Lopez after making 18 unforced errors. It was pretty clear that something was “off” and eventually Nole retired citing a problem to his eye “It started with an infection and then severe allergy,” commented Djokovic. “I have had it ever since I arrived in Dubai. It’s gotten worse in the last two days, unfortunately. It’s the first time that I have had such a problem with the eye. It was ultra-sensitive today.”

Booing stuff
Nole was (unfairly) booed when he left the court and he wasn’t really happy about it. Fortunately, the complaint came only from few people, the rest applauded the champion.
This loss ends an incredible streak from Djokovic that has reached 17 consecutive finals.
Feliciano Lopez reached the semi where he will face Marcos Baghdatis. Lucky stuff for the Spaniard!
