Tough stuff for Nick Kyrgios in his Dubai opener.
The Australian was coming from a triumphant week in Marseille (indoor) where he has won his maiden ATP title without dropping a singles set, but things were not the same in the Emirates.
The conditions in Dubai were completely different and Nick struggled a lot against Klizan especially at the very beginning (he was 0-3 down in no time). After losing the opener, Kyrgios found his way to get back and win 3-6 6-3 6-2.

“Both of us were playing really average today,” Kyrgios commented. “I thought we both struggled with the conditions. Obviously it was really fast and the ball was flying a lot.
For me it was completely opposite conditions to what I played last week. I barely hit at all here, maybe half an hour today, and I wasn’t feeling great. I’m just happy I got through. I was actually pretty excited to get here and play.”
