When news broke that she and Nick Kyrgios would be playing mixed doubles for the first time at this year’s US Open, Naomi Osaka jokingly said she was finding it difficult to understand that she was now regarded as a tour veteran.

There is a unique mixed doubles competition called “The US Open Mixed Madness” scheduled for this year’s US Open. It is scheduled for August 20 at Arthur Ashe Stadium, Flushing Meadows, as an exhibition event. This is six days before the start of the year’s last Grand Slam tournament.

Fans will have the opportunity to see four-star mixed doubles participate at Flushing Meadows before the main event commences. Osaka and Kyrgios will be the oldest doubles combo at the US Open Mixed Madness, with a combined age of 55.

Osaka wrote on Instagram: “The fact that we’re the veterans in this group just made me sit down in silence (crying and dead emojis).”

In the meantime, Osaka and Kyrgios get along well and have even started doing business together. The Australian had nothing but praise for Osaka as a player and a person after they had trained together in 2022.
