Before Croatia’s opening Euro 2024 match against Spain ended in a 3-0 loss, Knoll took part in an interview with MagentaTV. After the interview, Knoll said something strange regarding the outfit that presenter Laura Wontorra was wearing. Subsequently, she expressed her deep disapproval of the television station and insisted that they not ask her to be interviewed again.
After addressing Wontorra directly on Instagram, Knoll wrote, “‘Dear Laura, if I looked like that, I would only wear winter clothes forever.” After this, she sent a message to MagentaTV calling them “the most unprofessional television ever” and suggesting that they train their presenters in proper manners before deciding to do another interview with her.
Furthermore, Knoll used WhatsApp to communicate with a reporter from the German tabloid Bild, claiming to be unaware of Wontorra but to have heard bad things about her and another person saying after she appeared live on MagentaTV.
Knoll, who was previously Miss Croatia and a swimsuit model, rose to prominence as “Croatia’s sexiest fan” when her national team attire during the 2022 World Cup attracted attention. She joked about the cold temperature during the interview at Euro 2024 while wearing a bikini top decorated with Croatia’s national colors. She also boldly foresaw Croatia and France facing off in the final.
When studio host Johannes B. Kerner brought up the idea of wearing warmly in the winter, Wontorra and former players Tabea Kemme and Ciriaco Sforza returned to stadium coverage, emphasizing professional analysis.
At Euro 2024, Croatia will play Albania in hopes of winning after losing to Spain.
