Federer says he and his wife cried after watching his upcoming documentary

Roger Federer has discussed his upcoming documentary, "Federer: Twelve Final Days," openly and admitted that seeing it helped him to accept his retirement.

In a recent interview, Roger Federer talked candidly about his upcoming documentary, “Federer: Twelve Final Days,” acknowledging that watching it allowed him to finally accept his retirement. The 20-time Grand Slam champion went on to say that he and his wife Mirka had cried multiple times while seeing the video since it was such an emotional experience.

The documentary will be available on Amazon Prime, and on June 20th it will be released globally. During an interview, the former world No. 1 discussed the film’s emotional parts.

He expressed his thoughts about it and said: “When my wife and I first saw the documentary, we cried about six times. That’s where I accepted that my career was over.”

Federer also discussed differences in how he felt and how he had anticipated feeling after announcing his retirement from the ATP Tour, acknowledging that he had never dreamed his last moments would be that exquisite.

He added: “At first, I thought I was going to suffer a lot when I announced my retirement. Everything was going to be sad, but in the end, everything was a party. I didn’t imagine everything would be this beautiful. You’ll see.”
