When Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal team up to play doubles at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, the 22-time Grand Slam winner will undoubtedly be a valuable mentor to Alcaraz.
Alcaraz, who won the French Open earlier this month, will make a repeat trip to Roland Garros for the singles and doubles competitions. To win an Olympic medal alongside Nadal, according to Alcaraz, would be an incredible experience. He said that he never would have imagined being able to play with Rafa at the games.
Nadal took home gold at the 2008 Olympics in singles and doubles in 2016. The 38-year-old will be making his third appearance at the Games.
Alcaraz recently said: “I didn’t expect to play doubles at the Olympic Games with Rafa. It is a unique moment for me but of course, I am very happy about it. It’s going to be a great time. Honestly, I feel like he is going to teach me how to deal with everything. I am a young guy who needs to grow up as a player and as a person as well. Everything is new for me, so I hope to learn a lot from him. These are my first games, and I learned many new things. It would be a dream for me to get a medal with him.”
