Bad news for Naomi Osaka‘s fans as the world no.1 crashes out the Roland Garros after collecting on 6 games against Katerina Siniakova.
The match
The world no.1 already struggled in the first 2 round as she had to recover from a 0-2 deficit on both occasions. Naomi didn’t manage to find the solution this time against the world no.42.
1 break was the only difference between Naomi and Katerina in the 1st set. However, the Japanese failed to convert 4 break points (3 on a 0-40 scoreline) in the 10th game of the opening set before losing 6-4.
In the second set, Naomi conquered a 2-1 lead before dropping 5 consecutive games and lose the match 6-4 6-2 in just 77 minutes.
Naomi Osaka will still retain her world no.1 rank after this tournament.
Siniakova will face Madison Keys in the 4th round.
