Bencic, Vinci to play for the St. Petersburg title

Belinda Bencic and Roberta Vinci confirm their great form after reaching the final in St. Petersburg.

Bencic

The young Swiss reaches the final in St. Petersburg after after defeating her dear friend Darya Kasatkina in the semi 6-4 6-3. After the match it was remarkable to see a huge hug between Belinda and Darya at the net “Dasha is a very good friend,” Belinda said. “I’m happy that we still can be friends off the court even though on the court we fight against each other. I think that’s the way it should be.”

 

After this week Belinda will get in the top10… going for more.

 



 

Vinci

The US Open runner up confirms that she didn’t get that far in New York because of luck. Roberta had a gutsy performance against Ana Ivanovic in the semi to beat the Serbian Beauty 7-5 6-4. After the match Roberta commented “It was an incredible match, tough in the beginning with the 3-0 down in the first set. But I think I play good games, aggressive.

It’s always difficult to play against Ana. She plays so flat, so quick. But I’m happy.”

This will be the first time that Roberta and Belinda play each other. The Swiss is the hot favorite.
