Following his five-set final at Roland Garros, Alexander Zverev withdrew from the Stuttgart Open on Tuesday, citing fatigue.
Before Wimbledon, which starts on July 1, the ATP No. 4 was the top seed in the German tournament, which kicks off the grass season. After playing Carlos Alcaraz for more than four hours on Sunday, the German lost the Paris final.
Zverev expressed his thoughts recently and said: “I’ve played a lot of tennis in the last few weeks and reached the final in Paris, where I played five tough sets. I feel that my body is not ready to go from clay to grass now.”
Zverev lost his opening match in Stuttgart in 2019 when he last participated there against Dustin Brown.

Currently ranked no.4, Zverev played his last encounter on the 9th of June when he lost to world no.2 Carlos Alcaraz 6-3 2-6 5-7 6-1 6-2
in the final of the French Open (draw).Currently, during this season the German has a 34-10 match record. Zverev clinched 2 titles in 2024 in Australia and Rome. Alexander was the finalist at the French Open.
Zverev has scheduled to play next in Halle (Terra Wortmann Open). He will start from the main draw that will commence on the 17th of June.
