Djokovic cruises past Laaksonen to enter the 3rd round in Paris

Djokovic enters the 3rd round in Paris

Novak Djokovic won his 23rd straight Grand Slam match by beating Henri Laaksonen in his 2nd round match in Paris.

The Serbian won the match 6-1 6-4 6-3 in 1 hour and 33 minutes to advance in the 3rd round.

This is for the 14th consecutive year that the Serbian has made to the 3rd round of the tournament.

The Match

In the first set, Djokovic was very dominant and allowed just 5 points to his opponent. The world no.1 broke the Swiss twice in the first set to win by 6-1.

The world no.104 was more competitive in the 2nd set and broke the Serbian’s serve in the 6th game to level at 3-3. The Swiss was unable to put any further resistance to the world no.1 as he broke in the very next game and then held on his serve to win the set 6-4.

The champion player started the 3rd set by breaking in the first game. The Swiss was good to hold on his serve for the next 3 games, however, Djokovic broke for the 2nd time in the set to win by 6-3.

Djokovic will next play with Salvatore Caruso in his 3rd round match.
