Maria Sharapova experiences another day of misery against her nemesis Serena Williams.
The Russian beauty had to play the world no.1 in the quarters in Melbourne, but after a good start when she broke Serena in the very first game Maria couldn’t make it.
Serena was ruthless to win 7 consecutive games from a 4-all score-line in the opener to grab a decisive 6-4 5-0 lead. That was enough to give Serena the semis in 85 minutes (6-4 6-1).
Serena. It was super intense
The world no.1 commented “It was super intense. She’s an incredibly intense, focused player who was No.1 and won so many Grand Slams for a reason.
When you’re playing someone who’s so great, you have to come out with a lot of fire and intensity.”
