Rocket Padel Bristol’s Coach Galo talks about how important hand dominance is when deciding which side to play on. In left-handed games or lefty-righty duels, the right-handed player should take the field on the left side to provide the best possible covering and free up the lefty to concentrate on their strong points.
In contrast, the more proficient player should select the left side if both players are right-handed in order to reduce opponent exploitation. Since most players favor the left side, it is important to be able to play on both sides for better paddle abilities. When making this choice, the coach also takes the positioning of the opposition into account.
