Nadal defeats Nishikori, but he struggles with his knee – 2012 ATP Sony Ericsson – Miami – Youtube Video

Good News or very bad news???

Difficult to say. Rafa the warrior never gives up, but apparently he keeps on struggling with his knee. To tell the truth he was also struggling in Indian Wells and he had a strange occurrence at the Australian Open.

This time Rafa had to call a medical timeout.
The match was not a tricky one, but it lasted a bit for a straight 20 games match (2h and 10minutes).

“During the week of Indian Wells, the knee was getting a little bit worse, so I arrive here so, and happy I still play in quarterfinals,” said Rafa

“I’m not probably in perfect condition today with the knee, but important thing is try to win as many matches as possible. For me here is important tournament, and every victory has a very, very big value for me.” Nadal said his main goal was to be ready for the start of the clay season next month after winning his last title ten months ago in Paris. “After this, I have two weeks to recover for Monte Carlo,” he added.

Nadal will play Tsonga (6-3 6-2 to Mayer) in the next round).

Rafa’s problematic condition did not refrain him to have the honour to perform the Hot Shot of the day.
