Boris Becker recently shared his admiration for Iga Swiatek, highlighting her exceptional performance and drawing a significant comparison to Rafael Nadal. The tennis legend praised Swiatek’s prowess on the court, noting her impressive skills and composure.
“She looks so perfect on the court, so it’s nice to see some emotions and it’s good to see some nerves afterwards,” Becker remarked. He emphasized the initial competitiveness of her matches, stating, “I really enjoyed the finale for the first 15 to 20 minutes, but then Iga Swiatek was simply too overpowering. She had too many weapons, too much pace.”
Becker’s highest compliment came with a comparison to one of the sport’s greatest players. “Iga reminds me a bit of Rafael Nadal and I wouldn’t be surprised if she reaches double figures in the titles in Paris,” he said, predicting a bright future for Swiatek with numerous potential victories at the French Open.
Swiatek’s dominant playstyle and her ability to overwhelm opponents with her pace and precision have made her a formidable force on the court, much like Nadal in his prime. Becker’s comparison underscores the high regard in which she is held and sets lofty expectations for her future in tennis.
