Naomi Osaka and Emma Raducanu, two of the best players in women’s tennis, have been granted entry into the Eastbourne Rothesay International competition, which is held in two weeks.
Both tournament organizers and viewers will be overjoyed at those two names, in addition to a strong top 32 entry that includes eight of the world’s current top 20. Raducanu won the US Open in 2021 while still a teenager. Despite her skills being limited since then by injuries and other obstacles, Wimbledon 2024 is now imminent.
And the lovely green grass of Devonshire Park provides the best possible last preparation. Osaka, on the other hand, will be a rookie in Eastbourne as her revived singles career takes off. At the age of 26, the seasoned former world number one has won four Grand Slams.
