After advancing to the Australian Open quarterfinals in 2024, Gauff continued her quest for her second Grand Slam triumph, demonstrating her extraordinary consistency on all surfaces.

In the quarterfinals, Gauff overcame a set disadvantage to defeat Ons Jabeur 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 in a match that lasted one hour and fifty-seven minutes.

With her victory, the American became one of only six under-21 players this century to reach two semifinals at the claycourt major, joining an elite group that included Martina Hingis, Kim Clijsters, Justine Henin, Ana Ivanovic, Maria Sharapova, and Iga Swiatek.
