Top-seeded and reigning champion Novak Djokovic has been forced to withdraw from the Grand Slam due to a knee injury, the French Open has confirmed.

In his previous match, Djokovic was injured against Francisco Cerundolo. The Serbian player rallied dramatically to win in five thrilling sets.

After the match, Djokovic was uncertain about his ability to continue competing in the Grand Slam due to a right knee injury. He was compelled to withdraw, and the event organizers have already acknowledged this. Ruud has advanced to the semifinals as a result of Djokovic’s withdrawal.

Djokovic talked about his uncertainty playing in the semifinals of the French Open in a recent press conference. He said: “I have had a minor knee problem for a few weeks, but it is not a big deal. Then I slipped in the second set and I felt pain. I took a lot of painkillers and they started to take effect at the end of the fourth. I don’t know if I will play in the quarterfinals; we will wait and see.”
