Nishikori solid to the AO 2nd round

Kei Nishikori has a really good start of his Australian Open campaign to beat Philipp Kohlschreiber 6-4 6-3 6-3.  The Japanese was always on top to break the Germ once in the 1st and 2nd set and twice in the 3rd without never dropping a service game.

Nishikori. I am happy it was quick

The match was rather fast to make Kei even happier “It was hot today, but luckily I got finished quickly. It’s very dry here so actually I didn’t sweat much. It wasn’t too bad.”

Next vs. Krajicek

Kei will play world no.102 Austin Krajicek in the second round. Head to head is 1-0 for Nishikori that knows Austin rather well “It’s great to play each other because we trained together when we are really young, like when we were juniors,” Nishikori commented. “So it’s good to see him at this stage. We played in Memphis last year. It was a tough match. He’s a very aggressive player and has a good serve, comes to the net a lot. It’s going to be not an easy one.”
