The Carota Boys are a group of six Italian men who share an unwavering love for Jannik Sinner, their fellow countryman and tennis star. These friends hail from Revello, Italy, and they’ve taken fandom to a whole new level by dressing up as carrots to cheer for Sinner during his matches around the world.
The Origin Story
The idea behind the Carota Boys began during a Sinner match back in 2019. During a change of ends, Sinner casually munched on a carrot, creating an iconic scene. One of their friends suggested, “Guys, it could be nice to take this idea.” And so, the Carota Boys were born! They decided to don carrot suits and attend tournaments to support their tennis idol.
Globe-Trotting Fans
Since then, the Carota Boys have been globe-trotting alongside Sinner. They’ve been spotted at various tournaments, including the Italian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open. Their presence is hard to miss—six life-sized carrots, clad in orange, passionately cheering for their favorite player.
A Unique Bond
Sinner himself appreciates their dedication. He follows them on social media, where they create funny videos and document their travels. The relationship between Sinner and the Carota Boys has grown over time. Ahead of the ATP Finals, they even had the chance to hit with Sinner while still dressed as carrots!
Lavazza’s Support
Their efforts haven’t gone unnoticed. Italian coffee brand Lavazza has supported their carrot-clad adventures. The Carota Boys continue to be a delightful and quirky presence in the tennis world, adding a touch of humor and camaraderie to the sport.
So next time you see a group of carrots in the stands, know that they’re not just veggies—they’re the Carota Boys, celebrating tennis and their hero, Jannik Sinner!
The Carota Boys were seen also in Paris attending Jannik Sinner’s opening match.
