Kei Nishikori hasn’t won (yet) a slam, but his immense popularity in Japan is already making him a rich man.
According to reports, the world no.7 has just extended his contract with Uniqlo till 2020 (Tokyo Olympic Games) for $50 million.
Nishikori’s agent, Olivier van Lindonk, commented “Companies are looking for the next generation of champions. With Tokyo 2020 only four years away, this created an interesting dynamic with the clothing companies looking for an Asian star.”
Nice deal…
Very nice visit to the @uniqlo_au store in Melbourne. Was very special to meet so many tennis fans in Australia. pic.twitter.com/BOPM7hQ4YN
