SUPER. Nadal, Djokovic to play the final in Doha

We have the best possible final in Doha as Rafael Nadal will take on Novak Djokovic in the final.

Djokovic

Nole had a great run in Doha to get to the final without dropping single set. The Serbian had a good match in the semifinal against Tomas Berdych to beat the Czech 6-3 7-6 (3). The only weak moment for the world no.1 was when he lost his serve in the very first game. The he had a great stint to win 5 consecutive games when he was 1-3 down and grab the opener (6-3). The second set went straight to the breaker with Nole winning the match after 1 hour and 42 minutes.

Nadal

Rafa had a relatively easy semifinal to beat world no. 143 Ilya Marchenko 6-3 6-4. After the match Rafa commented “I did a few good things, and I’m happy with the victory, being in the first final of the season in the first official tournament is something great. For sure it’s important for my confidence, confirming that the end of the 2015 season had been something realistic and in the beginning of 2016 I am still playing well.”

The final

Djokovic and Nadal have played each other 46 times. Head to head is 23-all and Djokovic is definitely the favorite to win this final.
