Easy stuff for Novak Djokovic in his first match of the season. The world no.1 has no problems in dismantling Dustin Brown 6-2 6-2 in 51 minutes in the Doha opener.

The only tricky stuff for Nole was an injury scare in the second set when Nole tripped while returning Dustin’s serve. Fortunately there were no problems soon after for the Serbian that won the following 3 games (and the match).

Djokovic: A very good start

Nole was very pleased with his performance to comment “It’s been six weeks since I played the last match, so I was very excited to go back to the court and compete and see how I go. Obviously you never know how you’re going to start from the blocks. You can do your best to prepare yourself well, which I did. I think I used the off season very well to train to get my body in the right shape, and I think it was a very good start.”

Nole will play the second round against either Verdasco or Jaziri.
