Serena Williams ended the season with an unexpected and heartbreaking loss in the US Open semifinal while she was inches close to win a historical Grand Slam. This doesn’t take anything away from the world no.1 that eventually had a huge 2015 to win the AP Female Athlete of the Year for the 4th time after 2002, 2009 and 2013.

Talking about her last US Open, the world no.1 commented “I wanted it. But winning one [slam] is not easy. And then, [when] you have a ‘bounty’ on your head, it’s even harder. If you know anything about me, I hate to lose. I’ve always said I hate losing more than I like winning, so that drives me to be the best that I can be.”
