At this week’s Rome Masters, Rafael Nadal is continuing his preparation for Roland Garros and expressed encouragement about his steady development since returning from injury last month.
Since a hip problem necessitated surgery for the majority of last year, Nadal has stated that he plans to retire after this season. However, his comeback was put on hold in January due to a muscle rupture sustained in Brisbane.
The 37-year-old made a comeback to the circuit during the clay-court swing, competing in events in Madrid and Barcelona. He is well enough to participate in his third consecutive event in Rome.
Recently, Nadal arrived in Rome at Piazza del Popolo and fans were eager to welcome him. Many fans gathered around him to have a look at their favourite tennis star and some even received autographs from the Spaniard.

Ranked world no.305, Rafael has a composed 7-3 win-loss record in 2024. The Spaniard is now having a run in Rome where he conquered the world no.108 Zizou Bergs 4-6 6-3 6-4.
Rafael Nadal will play the world no.9 Hubert Hurkacz in the 2nd round. They have never competed against each other as of now in top events.
