Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas decided to end their relationship after approximately a year together, as the Spanish tennis player disclosed on Instagram.
The tennis players first made romantic overtures in June of last year. On Sunday, Badosa disclosed that they had decided to part ways gracefully.
During games ever since, they have been regularly spotted cheering each other on from their player boxes. It was only before Badosa’s injuries that they had considered playing mixed doubles together. The Spaniard revealed their breakup on Instagram stories, signalling the end of their loving adventure.
Badosa wrote on her Instagram: “After careful consideration and many cherished moments together, Stefanos and I have decided to amicably part ways. We have shared a journey filled with love and learning, and it is as friends with immense mutual respect that we now choose to move forward on our paths. We are grateful for the support of our friends, family, and all who have been part of our story. As we transition into this new chapter of our lives, we continue to wish each other nothing but the best in all our endeavours. We kindly ask for privacy during this time, and we thank you for your understanding and respect.”

Now the world no.7, the Greek played his last match on the 27th of April when he was defeated by world no.118 Thiago Moura Monteiro 6-4 6-4 in the 2nd round in Madrid (draw).
Until now, during this year Stefanos owns an overall 21-8 record. The Greek has won 1 title in Monte-Carlo. The Greek was the runner-up in Barcelona.
Tsitsipas has scheduled to play next in Rome (Internazionali BNL d’Italia). He will begin to play the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 8th of May.
