After his loss at the 2024 Madrid Open, Rafael Nadal made an emotional farewell message that brought his sister Maribel and wife Maria Francisca Perello to tears.
After two hours and one minute, Jiri Lehecka of the Czech Republic upset Nadal 7-5, 6-4, bringing an end to his incredible run.
With this loss, Nadal made his last appearance at the Madrid Open. The Spaniard gave an emotional speech to end his time at the tournament. In addition, he earned a unique trophy as a special honour for his achievements during the event.
The 37-year-old’s heartfelt speech affected everyone in the arena, including his family. His wife, Maria Francisca, his sister, Maribel, and others in his box all had tears on their faces.

Now the world no.512, Nadal played his last match on the 30th of April when he was overcome by world no.31 Jiri Lehecka 7-5 6-4
in the 4th round in Madrid (draw).Currently, during this year Nadal has managed to achieve a 6-3 win-loss record.
He is also scheduled to play at the French Open (French Open) after Rome. The main draw will start on the 8th of May.
