Federer, Hingis to play mixed doubles in Rio

Roger Federer and Martina Hingis will play together the mixed doubles at the Rio Olympics!

According to Le Matin, Roger has accepted Martina’s offer to play in Rio. The idea was that all Swiss players will compete also in doubles and since Roger has already won the Olympics with Stan Wawrinka in 2008, he might add a new one with Martina in Rio. This could be also a great opportunity for the Maestro as Roger and Martina should be on paper the strongest line-up in this competition and a medal… is a medal.

If Federer plays with Martina it would be unluckily he will team up again with Wawrinka, otherwise he should play 15 matches in 8 days to win all competitions and that shouldn’t happen.

Even if the indiscretion has been reported by media, Federer’s camp said nothing has been confirmed, so… let’s wait and see!
