The day-before-yesterday was the day that Rafael Nadal beat Stefanos Tsitsipas at the Italian Open in straight sets in the last four rounds. In addition to this, Rafael Nadal will be facing his foe Novak Djokovic in the finals of the Rome Masters 2019. Rafa was interviewed about Tsitsipas’s success on the ATP circuit and asked if he was surprised at his growth or not.

Nadal makes a prediction every year

Rafael Nadal then said that it’s normal to have young players there and that it isn’t normal to not have young players there. He then said that Stefanos is a great player. He followed up by revealing that every year they make a prediction with the team as to which players are going to be in the top 10 at the end of the season before the season begins. Rafael Nadal then said that he put Tsitsipas in the list.

In the current season, Tsitsipas has reached four ATP finals and has won 30 matches to date which happens to be the highest on the 2019 ATP tour.

Rafael Nadal said that he doesn’t say this because he is a genius. He says this because Tstsipas is a clear candidate to be where he is. He began even better than what he expected and now here they are. He then said that Tsitsipas deserves to be where he is and that’s it.
