Rafael Nadal has expressed doubts about making a final appearance at the French Open. After missing a year’s worth of competition due to a hip injury sustained during his comeback tournament in January, Nadal made a successful comeback last week in Barcelona.
Nadal is getting ready to compete at the Madrid Open after defeating Flavio Cobolli and then falling to Alex De Minaur in the second round.
However, Nadal offered a pessimistic evaluation of his current physical condition at a press conference held before the event.
Nadal expressed his thoughts in a recent press conference and said: “Some moments I find myself enjoying being on the court, playing against the best players again and I feel more or less competitive, and other moments I feel limitations and it’s difficult.”
He further said: “If I arrive in Paris the way I feel today, I will not play. I will play Roland Garros if I feel competitive. If I can play, I play. If I can’t play, I can’t. It won’t be the end of the world or the end of my career. I still have goals after Roland Garros, like the Olympics.”

Currently ranked no.512, Rafael played his last match on the 17th of April when he lost to world no.11 Alex De Minaur 7-5 6-1 in the 2nd round in Barcelona (draw).
This season the Spaniard owns a composed 3-2 record.
Rafael Nadal will face Darwin Blanch in the 1st round on Thursday at 5:00 pm on MANOLO SANTANA STADIUM. They have never competed against each other up to now in top tournaments.
