Rafael Nadal is preparing for the upcoming Mutua Madrid Open after withdrawing early from the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell. Next Wednesday marks the start of the second of three clay-court Masters 1000 competitions.
After Brisbane in January, Nadal hadn’t played in an official ATP event until his debut in Barcelona. The 37-year-old Spaniard lost to Alex de Minaur in the second round after winning his comeback match against Flavio Cobolli.
Recently, Nadal was spotted training hard for the upcoming event in Madrid and it looked like he was in red-hot form.
