Tennis superstar Rafael Nadal will play for Team Europe in the eighth Laver Cup later this year, which takes place from September 20–22 at Uber Arena in Berlin.
Under the guidance of captain Bjorn Borg, Nadal will join forces with Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, and Alexander Zverev as Team Europe attempts to reclaim the Laver Cup.
Nadal made his much-awaited comeback to the ATP Tour last week at the Barcelona Open. He has intimated that 2024 may be his final year on the circuit.
Nadal expressed his thoughts about it and said: “I am very happy to be playing Laver Cup in Berlin for Team Europe. I have some really special memories from my Laver Cup experiences, including all the emotions from London two years ago playing alongside Roger for the last time.”
He added: “At this stage in my career I want to go out there and make the most of every opportunity I am given. Teaming up is always an incredible experience and I have always enjoyed it, the competition is different and exciting. I’m looking forward to going to Berlin and helping Team Europe win back the Laver Cup.”
