John McEnroe has been one of the most controversial tennis players on tour, but the charismatic American seems to be a beginner in that compartment if compared to Nick Kyrgios. The Australian has attracted too much attention for the wrong reasons in 2015 and John believes he went too far.
McEnroe: I wish I could help
John commented “It’s a shame that now he seems like a shell. Maybe shell is a little strong but I just thought he’d be much more advanced by now.I don’t know exactly who is around him, but he needs good people around him.
I wish in a way I could help. Someone needs to. If it could be me, that’d be great. If it’s someone else, that’s fine.
But he needs to get on the right path because he should be top five in the world and he’d be a breath of fresh air, instead of where I get the feeling now he’s going in the wrong direction which worries me.”
