In an interview following her win against Marketa Vondrousova in the Stuttgart tournament, Marta Kostyuk discussed the challenging nature of their match. Despite leading 5-1 in the first set, the match went into a tiebreak, which Kostyuk was not satisfied with.
She shared that she had faced difficult matches against other top players on tour and that she had to remain patient and open the court as much as possible. Kostyuk also highlighted her impressive career trajectory, having started her career playing against the top 10 players and currently on a streak of defeating several top-ranked players, including Vondrousova, the Wimbledon champion. In a lighter moment, Kostyuk revealed a difference between herself and her opponent Rybakina, as she is the only one with a driver’s license.
