According to Andy Roddick, Rafael Nadal will be among the favourites to win the French Open in 2024 if he finishes his matches and maintains good health.

But the former US Open champion expressed worry that any injury to Nadal at this point would be the one that put an end to the legendary Spaniard’s career. This week at the 2024 Barcelona Open, Nadal made his eagerly anticipated return to competition. He had not played since January in Brisbane due to injury issues.

At the ATP 500 competition, Nadal overcame Flavio Cobolli in his opening round before losing to Alex de Minaur in the second round.

In a recent podcast, Roddick supported Nadal’s claim to be one of the top players at Roland Garros if he gets the proper training.

Roddick stated his remarks about Nadal and said: “I will be watching and hoping that at any point nothing goes wrong. Any injury from here on out could be the last injury. I still feel if he gets matches in and if he gets a clean bill of health for two or three events going into Roland Garros, [he is] certainly one of the favourites.”
