Emma Raducanu tells why she finally has coach with which she feels 'very comfortable'

Emma Raducanu, the 21-year-old British tennis sensation, has spoken glowingly about her coach, Nick Cavaday, during the Stuttgart tournament. Raducanu expressed feeling “very comfortable” with Cavaday, emphasizing their long-standing relationship and mutual trust.

Despite undergoing five coaching changes in her first two years as a professional player, Raducanu surprised many by choosing Cavaday for the 2024 season. Their history dates back to Raducanu’s childhood and junior days, instilling a sense of familiarity and trust in their partnership.

Amidst her post-surgery comeback, Raducanu’s game has shown consistent improvement, a fact she attributes in part to her collaboration with Cavaday. Speaking at a press conference in Stuttgart, the 2021 US Open champion highlighted the importance of trust and familiarity in her coaching relationship.

“I feel very comfortable working with him,” Raducanu remarked. “I have known him since I was a young age, so he’s someone who I feel like I can trust, and that’s a big thing for me, I think.”
