Roger Federer has just ended a fantastic day after he won 2 back to back matches following his wins over Joao Sousa (6-4 6-3) and Borna Coric (2-6 6-4 7-6) after he saved 2 consecutive match points.
About Kyrgios defaulting and a possible suspension
After commenting on his performance, the Swiss legend was asked about his opinion about Nick Kyrgios’ recent meltdown. Roger and Nick share a great relationship and in his recent controversial podcast, Nick attacked everyone with the exception of Roger.
The Swiss said that according to him Kyrgios should not be suspended to comment
“I don’t think he should be suspended, personally. Because he walked off the court. What did he do? He hurt a chair? That’s not enough for me.
A zero pointer, fine, all this stuff is already tough enough. He knows it’s a mistake what happened. I don’t know if he’s on probation or not from his Shanghai thing. If that’s the case, then obviously you can maybe look into it.
If that’s run its course, I don’t think he should be suspended.”
