After a difficult year on the ATP Tour, Stefanos Tsitsipas appeared to have lost his way. However, he stormed back to winning ways with an exciting victory in the Monte Carlo Masters.
Tsitsipas easily defeated Casper Ruud to win his third Monte-Carlo Masters championship in four years. It took the Greek player just one hour and thirty-seven minutes to defeat his Norwegian opponent 6-1 6-4.
Tsitsipas expressed his thoughts about it and said: “If I have to compare my level of tennis with the last two times that I have won here, I would probably say this time has been the best that I have come up with some incredible tennis. I say that because, well, you can easily say, Stef, you won the first time here without dropping a set, wouldn’t that be the best performance that you have had in Monte Carlo?”
He further said: “I would tell you not exactly. I had an opponent in the semifinal who is a world-class tennis player right now who refused to lose to anyone, and he’s been on a very good streak. So overcoming that obstacle, it’s a sign that my tennis is progressing and I’m able to push those players.”

Ranked no.7, Stefanos played his last match on the 14th of April when he overcame world no.6 Casper Ruud 6-1 6-4 in the final in Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters to win his 12th career title.
At present, during this year Tsitsipas owns a composed 17-6 match record. This year, Stefanos won 1 title in Monte-Carlo.
Stefanos Tsitsipas will square off with the world no.43 Sebastian Ofner in the 2nd round. Their head to head is 2-0 for Tsitsipas.
