Rune Interaction With A Fan

After Holger Rune was given a warning for unsportsmanlike conduct after losing to Jannik Sinner in the Monte Carlo quarterfinals, Rune took to social media to voice his dissatisfaction with the way things took place Rune was responding to an ATP post that featured Sinner’s winning forehand shot.

Rune’s quoted reply included: “Not that you gave me the best conditions in the first place having to play two matches the day before ending late, leaving almost no recovery time.”

He thought back on his most recent experience at the Masters 1000 event hours after mentioning the ATP’s post.

He wrote with a tears of joy emoji: “Three matches in 38 hours.  Happy about my level of tennis.”

One fan commented: “Real champions don’t cry like this.”

Rune then replied: “Hi. If I want to cry, I cry. If I want to scream, I scream. That’s me. And by the way, I never cry. This post mainly mentioned that it’s probably the shortest tournament I had in a long time in Europe and still three matches. Very efficient.”
