At the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters on Thursday, Stefanos Tsitsipas overcame a mid-match collapse to win 7-5, 7-6(3) after blowing a 5-0 lead against Alexander Zverev in the second set.

In the clay-court competition, the Greek player has played some of his best tennis, taking home the trophy in 2021 and 2022.

Tsitsipas expressed his thoughts after the win and said: “It is a big win. I am grateful I was able to play the way I did today. It took a lot of mental strength throughout the entire match. It was very consistent from the beginning to the end. I felt very dominant from the baseline. I was able to create pace and open the court, which helped me a lot. There is more tennis to be played, I am excited to see what the future holds. Today’s match was a great assessment of how much I can fight in tough moments.”

Tsitsipas was recently seen warming up before his tough match against Karen Khachanov, and it appeared he was putting a lot of energy into the fight.
