Alcaraz Plays A Shot

Due to a right forearm injury, Carlos Alcaraz withdrew from the Monte Carlo Masters just before his opening match.

Alcaraz, who was given a first-round bye, was supposed to face Felix Auger-Aliassime in the second round. Given Alcaraz’s present health concerns, it seems the young Spaniard may also miss the Barcelona Open.

In the last two tournaments, the 20-year-old has emerged victorious. However, it might be too soon for Alcaraz to compete considering that the Barcelona Open commences on Monday. When he was working out before the competition at the Monte-Carlo Masters, he was observed with strapping on his right forearm.

Alcaraz recently wrote on X: I have been working in Monte Carlo and trying to recover until the last minute from an injured pronator teres in my right arm, but it was not possible and I cannot play! I was looking forward to playing. See you next year! @ROLEXMCMASTERS.”
