Novak Djokovic has shared his confident approach as he gets ready to play Lorenzo Musetti in the third round of the 2024 Monte Carlo Masters.
In just one hour and ten minutes, Djokovic defeated Roman Safiullin 6-1, 6-2 to begin his claycourt season at the Masters 1000 event in Monte Carlo.
Next up, there will be a thrilling third-round battle between Djokovic and Musetti, which will set up a rematch of their third-round match from the previous year, when Musetti shocked everyone by defeating the world No. 1.
Before the much-awaited encounter, Djokovic was questioned about his fear of taking on Musetti. The 24-time Grand Slam champion, however, dismissed these worries and asserted that he isn’t afraid to take on any opponent.
Djokovic said in his post-match press conference: “I’m not scared of anything and anybody, but I hope that I can get the chance to play him again and get another matchup here. He (Musetti) is, you know, one of the most talented players on clay, a beautiful one-handed backhand. He’s very athletic. He can do a lot of great things, and he’s one of the most promising young players, not only from Italy but generally for the world.”
