Nick Kyrgios had one of his crazy matches in Rome where he defeated Daniil Medvedev 6-3 3-6 6-3 to clinch his first win on clay in the season.
The Australian decided to “go all quirky” against the Russian to fill the match with all his weird shots. Nick decided to start the clash with an underarm serve (why not?) to give a full display of tweeners, changes of rhythm etc. In the end, that worked pretty well as he explained in this interview.
Next vs. Casper Ruud
Nick will face the world no.76 Casper Ruud in the 2nd round for the first time. More quirks are on the way.
