Carlos Alcaraz reminisced about his initial Monte Carlo tournament experiences, which were centered around the boats in the sea rather than tennis. He expressed his eagerness to board one of the boats. Alcaraz lamented Rafael Nadal’s absence and unfinished business after losing in the first round during his only appearance.
Feeling at home and comfortable with the conditions were crucial for success in Monte Carlo, according to Alcaraz. Reflecting on the previous weeks on hardcourt, Alcaraz felt great and played well despite a quarterfinals loss.
He admitted to losing his smile when off-court struggles arose and was motivated by Jannik Sinner overtaking him in the rankings to work harder and improve.
