In preparation for his first clay court match of 2024, Novak Djokovic kept up on a long custom at the Monte-Carlo Country Club by working out with a known partner.
Djokovic hasn’t participated in a match since deciding to skip the Miami Open to spend more time with his family, but it’s obvious that he’s eager to return to winning ways as he looks to win his first Monte-Carlo Masters title since 2015.
Along with fellow top-ten player Holger Rune, Djokovic has begun training as he gets some clay beneath his feet in Monte-Carlo.
Rune shared images to recall back memories of their past training sessions. These two players had developed a practice routine of working together before this competition.
At the Rome Masters last year, Rune defeated Djokovic on a clay court, showing his ability to challenge the best in the world on this surface.
Rune wrote on X: “Embracing traditions opening practice at @RolexMasters with @Djokernole.”
